Ms. Zelma Payne was born September 02, 1945 To the late Mary Atchison in Hearne, Texas. She graduated from Blackshear High School in Hearne, Texas. She was joined by her sister Doris. They would spend their day just talking and enjoying life. Jean worked for Parkland in the Neonatal Unit and The City of Dallas, as a 911 Emergency Operator from 1974 to 2001, where she retired after 27 years of service. She has been a faithful member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church for 45 plus years. Jean enjoyed her daughters and the family, they created. She enjoyed making sure she captured every holiday, all events and don't forget the great food. She loved just sitting on the porch and enjoying a smoke and listening to her friends and family. The legacy of Jean, we will remember now in love. Jeans life from start to finish, left upon this earth will never be forgotten and Jeans love will be carried on through her Daughter's and Grandchildren. Ms. Zelma "Jean" Payne departed this life on May 14, 2021. We will miss and love you mama, your two daughters, Cheryl Payne (LJ) and Darlene Payne. We love & miss you Granny, your five grandkids Bryson Payne, Jocelyn Payne, Robert Spencer, Candice Payne and Dora Walker: five great grandchildren Harmony Payne, Honesti Adams, Brayden Payne, Dominique and Za'riyah Walker. Along with a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Mother Mary Atchison and Sister Doris Lee Newson.
