On March 15, 1920, Willie Mae Harper was born to the Late Pearl Harper and Temple (Lane) Harper in San Augustine, Texas. She attended San Augustine County School. She was known as "Snook' and loved going fishing from sun up to sundown and even all night if she could. Before her health started failing, she loved to cook for her family and even for the neighborhood. Everyone called her "Bigmama" or "Miss Snook." She loved going to church and loved praising God.
She attended church at Coming of Christ Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastor Joe A. Jackson and First Lady Brenda Jackson. She loved listening to First Lady sing "Whatcha Gonna Do When the Worlds On Fire." She enjoyed going to all the sporting events at the school and staying up late playing cards with Miss Jean, Miss Donna, Miss Luzell, DP or as she said BP, and Nell Tenell. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Amon Fall (Bill) Singleton; sons, L.C. Griffin, John P. Griffin, David Singleton, Elzie Singleton and
