Vanessa Wofford Clay entered this life on November 29, 1960, in Waxahachie, Texas, to proud parents, Charles and Mae Wofford. Vanessa graduated from Waxahachie High School, Class of 1979, and Secretarial College. She was employed at the following: TXU, AT&T, and retired January 2020 from Methodist Charlton Hospital as a Administrator Secretary. On March 27, 1981, Vanessa married her high school sweetheart, Lonnie Ray Clay, Sr. They are the proud parents of two children. Vanessa begin her Christian journey at Graham Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, Texas, and then faithful and dedicated member of Central Pointe Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. Vanessa's most precious gift was expressing abundant love in life, words, actions. On Sunday, October 31, 2021, (Halloween! One of her favorite days of the year) Vanessa Clay answered the master's call and peacefully transitioned from time into eternity. When she arrived in Heaven, she was greeted by her parents, Charles and Mae Wofford; sister, Juanita Wofford Sheffield; brother, Tyrone Wofford, Sr.; niece, Dominque Jackson; and nephew, Logan Sargent. Those left to cherish Vanessa's memories: her spouse, Lonnie Clay, Sr.; daughter. Tarah McKizzie (Walter); son, Lonnie Clay, Jr. (Cheneice); brother, Charles Wofford, Jr. (April); sister, Katha DeBase (Paul); grandchildren, Xavian Clay, Cameron Clay, Tramaine Lott, Carmen Clay, D'ana McKizzie, D'corion McKizzie, Caycie Clay and Lonnie Clay III. Her memories will also be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, family, and friends.
