Ardell Kennard-Cunningham was born to the parentage of Alberta and Edgar Kennard on January 31,1927 in Crockett, TX. On that same day her twin brother RL Kennard who preceded her in death, was also born. Ardell attended Crockett Public Schools and later obtained her GED and an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development from Dallas County Community College District. She accepted Christ at an early age and later moved to Dallas, Texas where she met the love of her life, Ercell Cunningham. They united in holy matrimony for 56 years.
After moving to Dallas, she united with the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and served several years as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and Deaconess. In later years, she united with the Ledbetter Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Don W. Bryant, where she served faithfully, until her health failed.
Ardell was proceeded in death by both of her parents, her husband and twin brother.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; four devoted nieces, Ardell Kennard-Taylor (Donald), Genetta Richardson, Andrea Lewis (W.G.) and Deborah Pruett (Perry); two nephews, RL Kennard Jr. and Alvis Kennard; a very dear and special sister in Christ, Ms. L. Joiner along with a host of other relatives and friends.
