Obituary

Terecia Valeria Hill Caraway was born July 16, 1927 to the proud parents, Professor J.I. Hill Sr., and Professor Bessie E. Hill in Union Murval County. Terecia Hill Caraway attended public schools at Pleasant Hill Elementary and graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School in Mt. Enterprise, TX as Salutatorian of her class. She received her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from Butler College, and her Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University. She was employed in several school systems including Dallas Independent School Systems, where she retired with 50 plus years with teaching and substitute teaching. She took the holistic approach in providing shelter, food, clothing, transportation, counseling for children and even putting money in their pockets. She contributed and paid for many family members to obtain degrees in Higher Education. Terecias passion was that of love and helping others, including her family, her church family, her neighbors and friends across the nation. She reared two adorable children: Isaiaria Moreland and Isaiah Moreland Jr. Her church life ministry was music. She shared her singing and playing in the church as a teenager. She was the musician for several local churches: Brazos River Presbytery, The Texas Synod and the National Missionary of the General Assembly of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. Education for young people was such and endearment of hers until she accepted the challenge of being a representative from Texas as the Woman of the Year to raise money for scholarships in 2012. She was crowned Woman of the Year with the highest amount ever raised at that time for scholarships. The amount was $19,095.00. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Isaiah Moreland Jr. (Yvonne); one daughter, Isaiaria V. Moreland Westbrook; six grandchildren, John I. Westbrook (Ziphoria), Isaiah Moreland III, Wayland Westbrook( Lorena), Terecia Moreland, Krystle Pace ( Jarrett) Yzairyen Moreland; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
