Tanya Y. Hunt was born on September 16, 1956 in Dallas Texas, to the parents of the late Henry Jones Jr. (Father) and Clova Roy (Mother) she was also raised by her step-father Mickey Roy for over 50 years. Married to Mr. Jerry Hunt for 30 years and to this union was born two children Jermaine Hunt, Jaleesa Hunt and step-daughter Jacquetta Winn Brothers and Sisters. Reginald Sephus, Roland Johnson, Henry Sephus, Gary Sephus, Karen England and step-sister Kimberly Baker. Tanya is survived by one grandson Daylen Hunt, one unborn granddaughter Ja'Mya Netherly and she took care of her great-niece Essence Coleman for 2 years. Tanya worked at S.M.U. for 5 years and Head Start of Greater Dallas for 10 years. Tanya graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1975. She continued her education (ATI) American Technology Institute,Cedar Valley and Mountain View Community College, were she studied Early Childhood Education. Tanya was a member of Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church for 50 years. She accepted Christ at an early age. She served her church well, she worked in the kitchen as an active member of The Clova Roy Daughter's of Smith,Y.P.D. sponsor, Smith Chapel Puppet Ministry, volunteered in the S.O.U.L Summer Lunch program and sung in the Julius Holmes Mass Choir. Her favorite scripture was "I can do all things through Christ which stregthens me."- Philippians 4:13
