Perry Lee Jones, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 8, 2020 at the age of 59. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the 5th of 12 children born to the marital union of Perry Jones, Sr. and Maggie Pearl Jones on May 19, 1961 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was united in holy matrimony with Laurie Ann Frazier on June 7, 1985 and to this union one daughter was born.
Perry was an extremely hard worker and began mowing yards as a young boy. He later became Manager of Del Taco and ventured on to Tyler Refrigeration for over 16 years. Perry worked as a Heavy Machine Operator at Martin Marietta, formerly known as TXI, of Midlothian, TX, for over 15 years. He was a driven person with an unmatched work ethic. In addition to working full time he was also a well-crafted landscaper, following in his father's footsteps.
He was introduced to Christ at an early age at the Grove Temple C.O.G.I.C. Perry accepted Christ at a young age, served on the Usher Board and was later ordained as a Deacon at the Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. He went on to serve as Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. In 2015, Perry Joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Ennis, Texas and continued to serve as Chairman of the Deacon board.
Perry grew up in a large and loving family and was the epitome of a great man. He was a devout and committed husband and father which extended beyond his immediate family reaching so many others. He cherished his time with relatives and friends; often enjoyed hosting large barbecues and fish fry's where he showcased his Pitmaster and frying expertise. Many raved about his tender, delicious brisket and fall-off-the-bone ribs. If that wasn't enough, his southern fried catfish would certainly delight your taste buds. Perry was an outstanding handy man and was very skillful. He also loved the sport of fishing and playing a good game of dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Smith and Ruth Lacey; Willard and Bertha Jones; His loving father, Perry Jones, Sr.; his brothers, Terry Jones and Marcus Jones.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his devoted wife of 35 years Laurie Jones; daughter Andrea Carter (Michael, Jr.) of Waxahachie, TX ; his mother, Maggie Jones; four sisters, Ruthie Rivers(James, Sr.), Linda Carrington, Ronda Smith and Rashanda Jones; Five brothers, Donald Ray Jones, Sr. (Kathy), Gary Jones, Dana Jones (Sharla), Michael Jones, and Randy Jones; a very special niece and nephew Braylen and Kambria Jones; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Special Friends, Mark and Wanda Young. In Law's: Mother in Law, Mary Frazier. Sister in Law, Sammie Hall; Brother in Law's; Edward, Jerry, James and Patrick Frazier; Vernon Frazier (Ora) and Thomas Frazier (Rhonda). And a special fishing buddy, Vernell Smith.
