Obituary

At an early age Nobie accepted Christ and was a faithful member of Morningside Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas. After marriage she united with the Union A.M.E. Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. After moving to Dallas,Texas in 1975, she united with Smith Chapel A.M.E. church. As a servant of Christ she was a faithful member working in the Aslee Lewis Missionary Unit and the Clover Roy Daughters of Smith.

WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER – MARK 10:9

Nobie married Ferias E. Ferguson, Sr. on June 8, 1968. After their marriage they moved to Little Rock Arkansas and later moved to Dallas Texas where they resided until her death.

THE LORD GIVETH WISDOM: OUT OF HIS MOUTH COMETH KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING – PROVERBS 2:6

Nobie received her early education in the Sulfur Springs School District graduating in 1962 from Frederick Douglas High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Nobie was then licensed by the state of Texas to serve as a licensed Physical Therapist. To further serve as a leader in the medical community, Nobie earned a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Texas Woman’s University.

JUST AS THE SON OF MAN DID NOT COME TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE, AND TO GIVE HIS LIFE A RANSOM FOR MANY - MATTHEW 20:28

Nobie opened her Physical Therapy Clinic in the Redbird Community designing it for the comfort and privacy of each patient. The clinic was equipped to meet every need. Nobie had extensive clinical skills in orthopedic, musculoskeletal dysfunction, neurological problems, burn care and injury prevention. Additionally Nobie served as a director of Physical Therapy and provided home health care services throughout the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex.

Nobie was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Dallas Alumnae Chapter, the Texas Chapter of African American Physical Therapists, Dallas Metropolitan Business and Professional Women’s Club and various business and social organizations in the community of Dallas.

I FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT AND I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE - 2 TIMOTHY 4:7

On Friday, August 5, 2022, after a twenty year battle with Alzheimer’s, Nobie peacefully left this life on earth for the glorious home she had been waiting and longing for - Heaven. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, DeLoyce Pruitt Jackson.

BLESSED ARE THEY THAT MOURN – MATTHEW 5:4

Nobie leaves to cherish the memories: her devoted husband Ferias Sr.; two children Gayle Ferguson and Ferias Ferguson, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Garlen Smith of Duncanville, Texas and Garrett Smith (Mariah) of Crandall, Texas; sister Rosetta Pruitt Cornish (Dwight) of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sister in laws, Delores Ferguson Fisher (Johnny) of Gause Texas and Laverne Ratcliff of Houston Texas; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
