Melva E Avant

Melva Elaine Avant was born on March 14, 1977 in Dallas TX , the parentage of Melvin T Avant and Elaine Holmes Avant. She was the first of two children born to this union. Melva attended Dallas Public Schools and she was a 1996 graduate of David W Carter High School. She also earned a B.S. degree from Texas Woman's University, Denton Texas in 2005. In September, 2007 Melva was blessed with a baby girl who she named Kamari Monet Overton. She loved her, supported and molded her into a beautiful young lady. Melva's career began as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in the DFW metroplex for several pediatric agencies. Melva was people-oriented which allowed her to work for two major law firms and other companies using her customer service skills. Melva accepted Christ at an early age where she was active in the Music Ministries for choirs or on the Praise Team. She loved the Lord and she loved singing his praises.Melva loved to sing at weddings, funerals, or special events. Melva is survived by her daughter, Kamari Overton; her mother, Elaine AvantAlexander; her father, Melvin Avant (Frances); her brother, Marlon Avant (Dynishea); her sister, Marqueta Avant-Holmes (Robert); her step-brother, James D. Alexander (Cynthia); her step-brother, Christopher M. Alexander; her Aunt Julia Stearns; her Aunt Juanda Avant-Jackson (Cedric); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends
