Obituary

Born April 4, 1915 in Marlin, Texas to Josie Eafon. He joined the United States Army in January 1943 and served until November 15, 1945, receiving an honorable discharge and receiving several medals: EAME campaign medal, Good Conduct medal, World War II victory medal, ASIATIC-Pacific Theater Campaign medal and one Bronze Star. In 1948, he married Flora M. Lee, and joined Grove Temple Church of God in Christ where he served as Deacon. He retired after 29 years of working at Neuhoff Packing Company. Daddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord, dedicating his life to support this Church. Daddy was an example of what a father should be, teaching me and his family to rely on God and to be the head of your home. In his last days at the nursing home, all of the doctors, nurses and staff loved him, always giving him special attention. Daddy, I, we will miss you. Mr. Ball was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Lee Smith and Elroy Smith; and one sister, Jessie Mae Caldwell.
