Ms. Joyce Ann Flangin was born on January 19, 1953 to Ernest and Ella Flangin in Waxahachie, Texas. Joyce received her formal education through the Waxahachie Public School District. Joyce furthered her education at Navarro College where she received her Associates Degree. She also received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and obtained her Teacher's Certification from East Texas State University of Commerce. Joyce taught for over 35 years. She was a bilingual teacher at Harlingen ISD (Harlingen, TX). Joyce taught at Ennis ISD and Red Oak ISD where she retired. Joyce in her early years loved to bowl and won several trophies. She also enjoyed good preaching and singing. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.
Joyce Ann leaves to cherish in her memories her three children: Tymon Flangin, Katheryn (Kitty) Buster (Breylin) and Tyler Stone; four grandchildren Khalyn, Braden, Kali, and Bryce; Her sister and best friend Evelyn Flangin; Sister-in-Law, Kat Haley-Flangin; Her nieces, Tracy Fowler (Dra'), Teresa Jones (Tony), Tanya Rainey (Tarik), Stephanie Flangin and Tanesha Flangin; Five Great-Nephews Trent, AJ, Dylan, Preston, Jaxson; Two great-great nephews, TJ and Trinston Fowler (Jasmine); Special Friends Debra Hudson, Alice Akinola, Helen Smith, Myrtle Clay and a host of family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Ella Flangin; Brothers Jimmy Flangin and Earnest Flangin; Sister Mae Ella Flangin and great niece Paige Burks Jones.
Joyce will be remembered as a warrior, fighter and the love she had for others.
