He was born in Leon County Texas on March 23,1917 to the parentage of Luther and Ellen Polk. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son John Walter Polk, one daughter Ann Polk, four brothers and two sisters. He leaves to cherish His devoted wife of 74 years, Aggie Polk, One Daughter Elizabeth Embers of Waxahachie, four son Jim Polk(Dorothy), and Curtis Polk(Hazel) of Waxahachie, Tx, Jacob Polk Jr.(Leola) of Dallas Tx, and Robert James Polk(Purella) of Fort Worth; brothers and sisters;and Twenty-six grandchildren. Brother Jacob Polk Sr. accepted Christ at an early age. He ministered over fifty years in the Church of Christ. He loved preaching and singing God's word. Throughout his ministry he served as a mentor to many. He was Minister Emeritus at Graham Street Church of Christ were he served faithfully until his health failed.
