Mrs. Iretha Henry was born on January 6, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of Fred and Fannie Lou Carter. She attended N.W. Harlee in Dallas, Texas, and St. Paul Shiloh High School in Oakwood, Texas. Iretha worked as a seamstress, and also for Mervyn's until they closed their stores.
She married Raymond McKenzie and, to this union, one child was born. She later married Tony Henry and, to this union, three children were born. Iretha received Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Rice Chapel A.M.E.
Iretha Henry was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fannie Carter; husband, Tony Henry; one son, Rodney McKenzie, Sr.; two sisters, Willie Jean Chandler and Maurine Miller; one brother, Douglas Carter; and one grandson, Damon Rashad English. She leaves to cherish her memories, Rodney McKenzie, Jr., and Antonio McKenzie; two sons, Tony McKenzie (Marilyn McKenzie) and Tracy Henry (Kennitha Henry); one daughter, Felicia Henry; one sister, Helen Chandler; grandchildren, Corey Roberson, Taiwan Munson, Latasha English, Adrian Munson, McKendric McKenzie, Phillip Clark, Traci Clark, Qualion Roy, Neiman Davis, and Brandson Jones; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Iretha was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
