S. Army with a honorable discharge. He is preceded in death by his parents; Claude and Josephine Smith; son-Wayne Smith; daughter-Jerlene Smith and a sister-Dorothy Smith-Rankins. Earnest united with the Pilgrim Rest United Church at an early age and served as chairman of the deacon board and a dedicated usher. Mr. Earnest Smith, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife-Gertie Smith of Milford, TX.; two sons-Earnest Smith, Jr. and Jerry Smith of Milford, TX.; four daughters-Frances Smith of Milford, TX, Delores Smith and Saundra Smith both of Duncanville, TX. and Stephanie Smith-Edwards (Norman) of Ennis, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two sisters-Helen Amison of Milford, TX. and Margie Cummings of Dallas, TX. and a host of nieces, nephew other relative and friends.
