Bishop Annell J. Castille Haney passed away at Country Meadow on April 24, 2021. She was born on July 28, 1928, in Kerens, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will (Did) and Jossie Johnson; husbands, Ernest T. Castille and H. D. Haney; her loving son, Dewey T. Castille; and brother, Willie Leon Johnson. She graduated from Park High School in Kerens, Texas; Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas, in the Food and Nutritional Program; in 2015, she received a certificate in Ministry, the General Assembly Institute and Helping Hand, Inc., and East Texas Baptist University. She confessed Christ at an early age in 1939 in the Princeton Community. Later, after her family moved to Corsicana, Texas, they united with the Church of the Living God, P.G.T. There, she was a faithful member where she worked in most every department of the church, choir and youth departments. She was a Sunday School teacher, and she also served as the church secretary! Bishop Annell J. Castille Haney was an Anointed woman of the Lord and received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Bishop C. H. Hunter. After he became ill, she became the Ihram Pastor. Later, she became Overseer of District #3 and was concreted as Bishop! She was the first female Bishop of the Executive Council in its 117 year history! She was the Pastor of the Malakoff Church of the Living God for 37 years, and she was also Pastor of the Massey Lake Church of the Living God for 22 years until her health began to fail. Under her leadership, she touched many, many lives and brought many to the Lord and also to the ministry. Left to cherish her memories are her nephew, Dale Johnson (Debra); her niece, Rosita Johnson; daughter, Shirley King; cousins: the Dirks Family, the Farris Family, the Johnson Family, and the Marshall Family; her longtime friend, Minister Florine Hubbard; her godson, Terrence Lewis; her great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
