Allen Warren Jr., 72, of Cedar Hill, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. Born on September 17, 1953, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, Allen lived a life defined by service, leadership, compassion, and dedication to others.


Allen was educated at East Carroll Elementary School and G.W. Griffin High School. During high school, he excelled in athletics, participating in football, basketball, and baseball, where he played Shortstop. He also showcased his musical talents as a trumpet player in the school band. After graduation, Allen attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas, where he continued to embrace the values of leadership, community, and dedication that guided him throughout his life.


Allen proudly served for 32 years with Dallas Fire-Rescue Department, retiring as a Battalion Chief. Throughout his distinguished career, he remained committed to protecting and serving the community with courage, honor, and integrity. He also served on the Texas Task Force 2 Urban Search and Rescue Team, assisting in critical emergency response and disaster recovery efforts.


Allen was a proud member of the Dallas Black Fire Fighters Association, where he valued the brotherhood, camaraderie, mentorship, and lifelong friendships formed through years of service.


Outside of his dedicated public service, Allen truly enjoyed life and the fellowship of others. He loved spending time on the water, especially boating, sailing, and riding jet skis. Allen often spent time in League City, Texas enjoying the company of friends who shared his passion for boating and life on the water. Over time, this close-knit group of friends became known as “The Ebony Boaters.” He also enjoyed reading instruction manuals line by line, cruising on his motorcycle, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with his beloved horses, Alabama and Pale Face. Allen especially enjoyed attending trail rides throughout Texas, where he embraced the fellowship, culture, and freedom of the open trail.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Glover Warren; his parents, Allen and Mary Warren; his sisters, Mary Warren Green and Bobby Warren Chase; and his nephew, Gabriel O’Shay Warren.


He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jamila Warren Rogers (Adam) and Allen Warren III; his beloved grandchildren, Jordan Steen, Ryan Mosley, Ariana Warren, Ariele Warren, Allen Warren IV, Asire Warren, Christian Rogers, and Faith Rogers; his devoted niece, Robbie Warren; nephews Robert Warren (Sonja), Kenneth Warren, and Gerald Warren (Emma); great-nieces Gabrielle Rogers and Morgan Warren; great-nephews Robert Warren, Jr., Tyrelle Warren, Jalen Warren, and Gerald Warren Jr.; along with a host of extended family members, friends, colleagues, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and generosity.


Allen will be remembered for his caring heart, quiet strength, dedication to service, and unwavering love for family and friends. His legacy of leadership, courage, and compassion will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
