Brother Jim Polk, age 80, passed September 28, 2017. He was born in Leon County, Texas on January 25, 1937 to the parentage of Jacob, Sr. and Aggie Polk. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Walter Polk; and a sister, Elizabeth Polk.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 49 years, Dorothy Lee Polk; two sons, Jimmy Don Polk and Ivan Polk (Leah); five daughters, Gwendolyn Lewis, Valarie Polk, Danna Polk-Brim, Cherlyn Skinner, and Judy Polk; 10 grand children; and five great-grand children.
He also leaves three brothers, Curtis Polk (Hazel) of Waxahachie, Texas, Jacob Polk, Jr. (Leola) of Dallas, Texas, Robert James Polk (Purella) of Waxahachie, Texas; one sister-in-law, Johnny B. Miller of Waxahachie, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bro. Jim Polk accepted Christ at an early age. He loved God, family, and friends. He was a care giver and provider for his family. He also mentored a lot of young men and women on various aspects of life. Bro. Polk was up front and spoke out for his rights. He never held back on what he believed!
